近兩年，歐洲有些國家先后出臺(tái)了針對(duì)穆斯林穿戴蒙面面紗的禁令(niqab ban)。近期，法國兩名女子因違反此禁令而受到罰款處罰。
The European Court of Human Rights has upheld a ban by France on wearing the Muslim full-face veil - the niqab.
歐洲人權(quán)法院支持法國對(duì)穆斯林穿蒙面面紗的禁令。
French law says nobody can wear in a public space clothing intended to conceal the face. The penalty for doing so can be a 150-euro fine ($205).
法國法律規(guī)定，公共場(chǎng)合禁止任何人穿著遮蓋臉部的服裝，違者將受到150歐元(約合205美元)的罰款處罰。
A breach of the ban can also mean a wearer having to undergo citizenship instruction.
違反該禁令者同時(shí)還將接受公民身份指導(dǎo)。
The French government argues that the ban has wide public support. The authorities see the full-face veil not only as an affront to French secular values but also as a potential security risk, as it conceals a person&aposs identity.
法國政府辯稱該禁令獲得了廣泛的公眾支持。政府認(rèn)為蒙面面紗不僅有違法國的世俗價(jià)值，同時(shí)因其遮蓋面部，也具有潛在的安全威脅。
