　　The Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation or APEC has 21 member countries representing the interests of the Asia-Pacific region. APEC brings the idea of regionalism to Asia. Since it represents 47 per cent of world trade, APEC is regarded as a very significant regionalized organization. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, economies in the Asia-Pacific region grew significantly. During this time the Asian Tigers developed and several countries moved their economic status from less developed to industrialized. The organization was established in 1989 as interdependence between the economies grew. Today the goals of the organization are to collectively strengthen relationships among member and nonmember countries and enhance economic growth for the region. Specifically concerning trade, APEC hopes to enact free trade for the industrialized members by 2010 and for less developed economies by 2020.

　　亞太經(jīng)濟合作組織，或APEC，擁有21個代表亞太地區(qū)的成員國。亞太經(jīng)濟合作組織給亞洲帶來地區(qū)主義的理念。由于亞太經(jīng)濟合作組織代表世界貿(mào)易的47%，它被看作非常重要的地區(qū)組織。十九世紀七十年代到八十年代，亞太地區(qū)的經(jīng)濟發(fā)展十分迅速。這段時間，亞洲四小虎發(fā)展起來，一些國家也從比較不發(fā)達的經(jīng)濟狀況發(fā)展成工業(yè)化。1989年這個組織成立作為一個經(jīng)濟增長相互依賴的產(chǎn)物。今天，該組織的目標是共同加強成員國和非成員國之間的聯(lián)系以及增強地區(qū)的經(jīng)濟增長。特別是關(guān)于貿(mào)易，亞太經(jīng)濟合作組織希望在2010年使工業(yè)化成員國達成自由貿(mào)易，2020年達成不發(fā)達經(jīng)濟體的目標。
