Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in eological Engineering

The University of British Columbia's (UBC) Geological Engineering Program is seeking outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor to join the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences. Appointment at a higher rank will be considered for an applicant of exceptional qualifications. Applicants are welcome from all areas of Geological and Geotechnical Engineering with prerence given to applicants who have demonstrated success in areas of existing strength at UBC: natural hazards, groundwater, rock engineering, and natural resource geomechanics. The successful candidate is expected to develop innovative and internationally recognized research programs, obtain external funding, contribute to scholarly work in Geological Engineering, teach fectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, fectively supervise graduate students, engage in professional service and professional development, actively participate in departmental activities, and to be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia ().

Geological Engineering is a Faculty of Applied Science program hosted within the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences in the Faculty of Science and administered cooperatively through a Board of Studies with the support of allied departments in the Faculty of Applied Science. The Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences is one of the largest and most diverse departments of its kind in the world.
