英國留學申請:推薦信寫作要求及注意事項

申請材料,除了學歷,成績單之外,還有一份很重要的文件:推薦信(Letter of Rerence)

推薦信 其實就是讓推薦人,好好贊美你一番,好好夸夸你~~

但是,往往在英國大學官網(wǎng)上,查不到太多對推薦信的要求

比如

two rerences from people who are able to comment on your suitability for the programme for which you are applying

You will usually be asked to provide rerences in support of your application.

The names and addresses of two academic rerees

two academic rerences (at least one will be required at the time of application

Two academic rerences or if appropriate to the programme applied for, one could be from your employer

這么簡單的要求,怎么寫呢?也不給個方向、思路,這要怎么夸呢?

但也有貼心的大學,怕童鞋找不到北,給了如下指南

Two academic rerences

You should arrange to supply two academic rerences (from tutors who have taught you at university) as part of the online process. This is a secure and confidential service for rerees and helps speed up the decision-making process. You should use your reree s academic (university) email address when requesting a rerence.

Current students and applicants who graduated from their most recent study after January 2014must supply two academic rerences. Rerences should be from a teaching member of your current (or, if you have graduated, from your most recent) university department.

Applicants who graduated from their most recent study bore January 2014 may supply one non-academic rerence in place of one of your academic rerences. This should normally be a rerence from your most recent employer (see our guidance for professional rerences).

Applicants who graduated from their most recent study bore January 2012may supply two professional rerences if they are unable to provide academic rerences. It is in your interests to supply academic rerences wherever possible.

一、推薦信要寫多少字數(shù)呢?

推薦信不宜過長,400-500英文單詞足矣

二、選誰來夸我合適呢?

任課教師:教你所以懂你啦,注意這門科目成績也要好喲,否則白夸;

項目論文導師:參與項目/論文,對你有所了解,有足夠接觸的時間;

學院領(lǐng)導:最好是教過你的老師,或者在某個學校大型活動中有接觸

單位領(lǐng)導:如工作,單位領(lǐng)導推薦

三、夸什么呢?值得推薦哪些方面呢?

任課老師:突出學習能力、學習方法、學習習慣、學習態(tài)度以及學業(yè)潛力等方面;

項目老師:可以突出你的科研能力;

學院校長:可以突出綜合素質(zhì)、能力特長、課內(nèi)外整體表現(xiàn)等;

單位領(lǐng)導:工作的話突出工作能力,工作表現(xiàn)。

四、推薦信的格式要求?

1、介紹部份。

首先應該明確地介紹推薦人的情況,工作單位、職位、與學生的關(guān)系以及與學生相處的時間長短等。在這一部份也可以給被推薦人一個總體的評價。

2、主體部分。

重點講述學生一至兩個優(yōu)秀品質(zhì),并且用有力的事實證明加以輔佐,千萬不要羅列事列,不要蜻蜓點水地介紹。

3、結(jié)論部份。

解釋為什么學生的申請計劃是適合他本人的,還可以說明你認為該學生未來會對申請的學校做出什么樣的貢獻。最后可以再次強調(diào)你對學生充滿信心,同時表示學校在審核材料的過程中可以隨時聯(lián)系推薦人。

五、寫作注意事項:

1、一定要有具體的事例加以佐證,切忌用一些非??辗旱男稳菰~;

2、推薦人應熟悉學生,這樣寫出來才會真實有感;

3、一定是以老師的口吻來寫,注意用詞和寫作口氣;

4、推薦信內(nèi)容盡量不要與PS內(nèi)容重復,浪費可利用空間。
