Emory College is a true fit for a student who values academic independence and intellectual engagement. Emory students benefit from having the resources of a dynamic research institution in the city of Atlanta, enhancing their academics and life outside class and providing easy access to hands-on industry access and internship opportunities. Classes are taught by professors who are the leading scholars in their fields, and learning is enriched by a student body that comes to Emory from all around the globe. Students choose from 71 majors, 57 minors, and a variety of preprofessional opportunities, with most students pursuing multiple disciplines of study.
Oxford College is ideal for a student who seeks a small liberal arts college experience and early opportunities for leadership. 　　Oxford College是埃默里大學(xué)在其老校址開(kāi)設(shè)的兩年制文理學(xué)院。埃默里對(duì)Oxford學(xué)院與本部Emory College的描述是“academically equivalent, but environmentally distinct. (學(xué)術(shù)上等同，環(huán)境上不同)”。Oxford學(xué)生讀完兩年后在大三大四可以直接進(jìn)入埃默里大學(xué)的Emory College，也可以選擇申請(qǐng)埃默里大學(xué)商學(xué)院和護(hù)士學(xué)院，錄取時(shí)也是給予相等考慮的。
　　成立原因
　　埃默里大學(xué)1919年遷址至亞特蘭大，但校方不想將其歷史荒廢，加之學(xué)校本身非常注重文理教育，于是學(xué)校決定在原校址開(kāi)設(shè)一個(gè)文理學(xué)院，即為Oxford College。
　　優(yōu)勢(shì)
　　Oxford教育質(zhì)量從本科文理教育這方面上說(shuō)可能比埃默里本部還好，因?yàn)閷W(xué)生的邏輯思考、學(xué)術(shù)寫作等等水平都在小班培養(yǎng)、大量練習(xí)交流中磨練了出來(lái)。而且Oxford所有的課程都有教授來(lái)上，而埃默里則會(huì)有一些基礎(chǔ)課程由助教來(lái)上。
　　另外，因?yàn)镺xford是文理學(xué)院小班授課的模式，教授和學(xué)生都很熟悉。當(dāng)兩年后從Oxford畢業(yè)了學(xué)生也可以很方便的向教授要推薦信從而轉(zhuǎn)到別的學(xué)校。每屆畢業(yè)的Oxford學(xué)生都有很多轉(zhuǎn)去了常春藤名校。
　　還有一點(diǎn)，就是學(xué)費(fèi)便宜。有很多來(lái)Oxford的學(xué)生都同時(shí)接到了常春藤等名校的錄取，但是選擇來(lái)這里，因?yàn)檫@里不僅能給他們一個(gè)堅(jiān)實(shí)的教育，還能讓家里省下一筆錢。
　　缺點(diǎn)
　　因?yàn)楫吘故切⌒臀睦韺W(xué)院，資源肯定不能和埃默里大學(xué)相比。比如科學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)器材，圖書館，健身房等等。而且因?yàn)閷W(xué)校處在比較僻靜的地帶，社交生活也 會(huì)相對(duì)單調(diào)。不過(guò)學(xué)校距離埃默里也不算太遠(yuǎn)，有45英里，開(kāi)車幾十分鐘就到了。所以如果有需要，也完全可以利用埃默里的資源，不會(huì)錯(cuò)過(guò)太多。
