　　32.Some people believe that the fittest and strongest individuals and teams always success in sports. Others think that success in sports depends on mental attitudes. Discuss both views and give your opinions. (08.05.31)

　　支持心態(tài)(mental attitude)更重要的觀點(diǎn)：

　　好的心態(tài)可以讓運(yùn)動(dòng)員能夠接受惡劣的條件(accept the agonizing conditions)，坦然面對(duì)逆境 (stay calm in the face of adversity)，克服障礙(overcome obstacles)，影響著他們的表現(xiàn)(dictate their performance)，讓他們?cè)趬毫ο乱材鼙３肿⒁饬泻腿σ愿?their persistence and their ability to focus under pressure)

　　好的心態(tài)會(huì)讓運(yùn)動(dòng)員去構(gòu)想他們成功的表現(xiàn)(visualize their winning performance)，激發(fā)他們的斗志(stimulate their competitive spirit),運(yùn)動(dòng)員自己覺得自己能夠贏(Capable to win);反之，如果沒有好的心態(tài)，運(yùn)動(dòng)員對(duì)自己的期望就有局限(limit expectations)，一個(gè)斗志昂揚(yáng)的運(yùn)動(dòng)員(at his/her mental peak)可以發(fā)揮到自己的最佳狀態(tài)(perform at his/her best)

　　如果兩個(gè)具備同等天賦的運(yùn)動(dòng)員放在一起，意志堅(jiān)強(qiáng)的總能在大部分時(shí)候勝出If two equally talented professional athletes are put together, the mentally stronger of the two will win most of the time.

　　在專業(yè)體育中，大部分的運(yùn)動(dòng)員身體狀態(tài)都是出色的，真正導(dǎo)致不同的是他們的心理忍受能力In professional sports, a majority of athletes are at the same physical excellence, so what separates them from each other is mental capacity.

　　反對(duì)心態(tài)(mental attitude)更重要的觀點(diǎn)：

　　過分強(qiáng)調(diào)心態(tài)讓運(yùn)動(dòng)員高估自己(overrate his/her own capabilities)，只會(huì)在失敗后更加沮喪(feel a stronger sense of frustration)

　　體育運(yùn)動(dòng)是以身體和團(tuán)隊(duì)為基礎(chǔ)的，心態(tài)只是一個(gè)輔助因素

　　33. In modern society, fashion is becoming more and more popular in people's choice of clothes. Why? Do you think it is a positive development or negative development? (08.11.08)

　　人們追求時(shí)裝的原因:

　　經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的產(chǎn)物：收入增加，讓人們可以購買不同的衣服(expand the range of clothes worn)

　　現(xiàn)在的人們?cè)絹碓絺€(gè)人化(individualistic)，時(shí)裝是一種表現(xiàn)自我的方式(a form of self-expression)，可以展現(xiàn)人的性格、心情和審美觀(personality, mood and aesthetic appreciation)。

　　全球化的產(chǎn)物：全球化促進(jìn)了各種文化的融合(mixture of different cultures)，時(shí)裝設(shè)計(jì)師可以從不同文化中獲得靈感(draw up the inspiration from different costumes)，人們接觸不同文化的機(jī)會(huì)增加(exposure to different cultures)，因此他們接受時(shí)裝就更加大膽(become bold fashion wearers)

　　支持追求潮流的觀點(diǎn)：

　　創(chuàng)造新的經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)和就業(yè)機(jī)會(huì)Stimulate consumption. Make contribution to the development of economy

　　新時(shí)代的時(shí)尚fashion in the new era不一定意味著高消費(fèi)，也并非一定穿著某種款式的衣服，充分考慮了消費(fèi)者的需求consider the consumer demand fully，不象人們想的那樣膚淺not as superficial as some people think

　　時(shí)裝是自我表達(dá)的一種體現(xiàn) a means of self-expression，表現(xiàn)人的性格和喜好reflect one’s personality or likes讓人們?cè)谏钪畜w驗(yàn)不同的角色allow people to try on many roles in life，同時(shí)使得世界更加多樣化make world diversified

　　反對(duì)追求潮流的觀點(diǎn)：

　　潮流變化太快，盲目追求時(shí)尚可能造成過度消費(fèi)follow fashion blindly/slavishly/Sequaciously may cause excessive consumption，從而導(dǎo)致浪費(fèi)，成為購物狂shopaholic或者fashion victims，忽略質(zhì)量neglect the quality等

　　失去自己的判斷和喜好dwell too much on what others think

　　鼓勵(lì)人們將衣服和地位、社會(huì)階層還有財(cái)富聯(lián)系在一起associate clothing with status, social class and wealth,造成歧視。

　　可能導(dǎo)致產(chǎn)業(yè)內(nèi)的惡性競(jìng)爭(zhēng) deteriorate competition
